About Us

About Us:

Steppingstones in the Community (SITC) was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic to support families and vulnerable residents. What began with food parcels, prescription collections and practical help has grown into a wider community organisation working across the West Midlands.

Today our work includes youth clubs, HAF holiday programmes, cycling, sport, food support, wellbeing activities, mentoring, digital skills and neighbourhood projects. We work with local volunteers and partners to respond to what people need.

SITC is now a multi-award-winning community organisation. In 2026 we won Outstanding Community Group at the Outstanding Citizens’ Awards and Community Sports Initiative of the Year – West Midlands at the Prestige Awards.

Our Mission:

We’re here to provide practical support and create useful opportunities for people across the West Midlands. Our work covers youth activity, sport, cycling, food support, wellbeing, digital inclusion and neighbourhood projects.

The aim is simple: help people feel supported, stay active, build confidence and stay connected to their community.

Our Aims:

Our aims are to create useful opportunities that strengthen communities and improve wellbeing across the West Midlands.

We aim to:

  • Support local residents with practical help, guidance, food support and signposting.
  • Give young people positive places to go through youth clubs, HAF, PlayZone, sport and mentoring.
  • Help people stay active through cycling, tennis, multi-sport and community fitness activity.
  • Build stronger neighbourhoods through volunteering, StreetWatch, litter picks and other local action.

Everything we do is shaped around local need and delivered with the community.
